Target, Kroger, Walgreens, Walmart mandate masks: COVID-19 Outbreak.
Seeing this several places: Target, Kroger, Walgreens, Walmart mandate masks. With the COVID-19 outbreak many companies are or will be mandating masks. First and foremost, don’t go into a store and take it out on the employees. The employees don’t have anything to do with it. For everyone up in arms a private company can do this. People have the right not to wear a mask, and a company has the right to refuse service to those who won’t wear a mask. Think of it like this. No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask, No Service. This is from the Washington Post: Top nine brick-and-mortar retailers now require coronavirus masks in U.S. stores.
Not sure how it is working at all stores but for those who won’t wear a mask you can do curbside pickup, Instacart, online order, etc. For those who can’t wear a mask you may want to call the store before going there thinking you will be able to go in without a mask. And if you are one of those that don’t have a medical reason not to wear a mask, but bring up ADA and HIPAA, this type of behavior hurts the people who do have disabilities. Please don’t do this.

Quotes about Masks
- CDC Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield. “Cloth face coverings are one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus – particularly when used universally within a community setting. All Americans have a responsibility to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.” ~Dr. Robert R. Redfield, CDC Director.
- “There is increasing evidence through comparisons of what’s happening in different countries and in different states, in terms of mask usage and mandates, that masks help slow transmission of COVID-19. Of course, it would be ideal if everyone had access to high-quality masks, but masks do not have to be 100% effective to reduce one’s exposure to virus. At this point, any reduction helps. I think it is becoming clear that the benefits to wearing face coverings outweigh any downsides.” ~Linsey Marr, PhD
- “I’m all for masks.” ~President Trump
- “If a company is mandating masks and you won’t wear a mask, then shop somewhere else. It is very simple. Don’t take it out on their employees, they are just there working. It is your right not to wear a mask, and it is a company’s right to refuse service to those that won’t wear a mask. Don’t trample on a company’s rights.” ~Dave Waters
- “It is a person’s right not to wear a mask. Just like it is the right of a company to refuse service to those who won’t wear a mask.
- “I think the biggest thing with COVID now that shapes all of this guidance on masks is that we can’t tell who’s infected. You can’t look in a crowd and say, oh, that person should wear mask. There’s a lot of asymptomatic infection, so everybody has to wear a mask.” ~Peter Chin-Hong, MD
- “I’m a believer in masks, I think masks are good.” ~President Trump
