Pandemic Increases Demand for Self Serve Kiosks.
Guessing opinions have changed of those who were against using self serve kiosks. There were people saying they aren’t going to use self serve kiosks because they take jobs from people. With the pandemic people have quickly realized kiosks provide a way to order without person to person contact. Kiosks have popped up in plenty of restaurants. The first kiosk I saw in a McDonald’s was in Hawaii. There was a huge line out the door and no one at the kiosk because people didn’t want to try it out. I went to the kiosks and got my food much sooner than many of the people who were there before me. I like kiosks because of speed. But now with the pandemic people will go to the kiosks so they don’t have to have direct contact with people .
When I went to a hotel I liked going to the front desk to talk to the person. Now I am hoping hotels have kiosks so I can do my own check in and I don’t have to talk to someone at the front desk. I recently saw kiosks that are touchless. Basically have to point to the button on the machine but not actually touch it. I think this technology will become much more popular now that we have all experienced the coronavirus.
