Look at technology holistically, not in silos: IoT, blockchain, machine learning, big data…
When new technology comes out it usually means a good payday for vendors and consultants. Do your due diligence and be sure to get into the details of how the product works, and be sure it actually does work. If anyone can remember back when ebusiness was a major buzzword near the year 2000 companies were selling all types of technology. Unfortunately to be the first mover many companies put out their product before it truly worked as described. Some companies decide to go the best in breed concept and others buy a product that has all the technology built in. As you look into new technology look at it holistically and be sure the integration costs/issues won’t hinder the benefits as you go forward.
